Houston: Advanced PVT simulation for Reservoir Engineers
September 1 - 2, 2010
About the course
The course focuses on applied examples of advanced EOS modeling. The course will take you through QC of fluid compositions, strategies and options for regression to PVT data, EOR, asphaltenes, handling of mud contaminated fluids, and handling of co-mingled production from multiple wells, reservoir zones or reservoirs. The concepts of EoS modeling will be presented in lectures and exemplified through hands-on exercises in the use of PVTsim.
The following topics will be covered
- QC of fluid compositions with components up to C36+
- Fluid characterization and component lumping
- EOS modeling workflow and tips
- Cleaning of Mud contaminated fluids with regression
- Swelling, slim tube and MMP simulations
- Regression to PVT data including gas injection data
- Same pseudo regression for multiple fluids
- Viscosity tuning
- Asphaltenes
- Export of compositional and property tables to external simulators
Who Should Participate
Engineers engaged in EoS modeling for reservoir simulations. Participants must be familiar with the basics of fluid handling, cubic equations of state and PVT simulation. Experience in operation of PVTsim or other PVT simulator is a further requirement.
