PVT Simulation
The Course
The course will cover all key elements of PVT simulation including
- Fluid handling
- QC of fluid compositions
- Compositional input to PVT simulator
- C7+ characterization and lumping
- Characterization of multiple compositions to the same pseudo-components
- Equations of state
- Viscosity correlations
- PVT modeling
- Handling of mixtures with water
- Reservoir applications
- Simulation of PVT experiments
- Regression of PVT data
- Compositional variations with depth
- Input to reservoir simulators
- EOR experiments & MMP simulations
- Flow Assurance
- Hydrates
- Wax
- Asphaltenes
The theory will be presented in lectures and exemplified through hands-on exercises in the use of PVTsim. After taking the class participants will have a basic knowledge of equations of state and other models used in PVT simulation. They will know how to QC fluid compositions and what are the best practices for EOS modeling. Participants will also know how to utilize PVTsim's capabilities within flow assurance for calculations.
Who should participate?
Engineers who would like to get an understanding of the concepts of PVT simulation and learn how to use PVTsim. With its mix of theory and practice the course is appropriate for those who want to learn to use PVTsim as well as those mainly interested in PVT simulation models.
Lecturers
Calsep engineering staff.
