In-house Courses
Alongside with the open courses, Calsep also offers in-house courses. These courses may have the same extent and content as the open courses or the content and level may be tailored e.g. for process or reservoir engineers, or engineers within the field of multi phase flow metering or flow assurance.
An in-house course is often held at the customers training facilities, but can be held at any suitable venue, including Calsep's offices.
Below are a few examples of possible courses.
Three-day Flow Assurance PVT Course
Subjects to be covered are
- Compositional input to PVT simulators
- Equations of state
- C7+ characterization
- Simulation of PVT experiments
- Regression to PVT data
- Viscosity Models and Tuning to Viscosity Data
- Wax and Asphaltenes
- Water Salt and Inhibitors
- Gas Hydrates
The exercises will exemplify the various regression options in PVTsim and the different flow assurance modules in PVTsim.
Who should participate
Flow assurance engineers who want to be able make optimum use of PVTsim in a flow assurance context.
Three-day Advanced PVT Course
Subjects to be covered are
- Quality Check of Fluid compositions
- Equations of state (EOS) and Flash Calculations
- Common EOS for Multiple Fluids
- Viscosity Models and Tuning to Viscosity Data
- Wax Formation and Deposition
- Asphaltene models
- Cubic EOS customized for Aqueous Mixtures
- Allocation
- Modeling of Gas Hydrate Formation
- Gas Hydrate Kinetics
An advanced course requires that all participants have working experience with PVTsim. The topics are covered in more detail than in a standard course. More room is left in the schedule for open discussions and less time spent on computer exercises.
Who should participate
Reservoir, process and flow assurance engineers with some experience in PVTsim or other PVT simulators who want make advanced use of PVTsim and have a better understanding of the models used in the program.
One-day Reservoir Engineering PVT Course
Subjects to be covered are
- Compositional input to PVT simulators
- Equations of state
- C7+ characterization
- Simulation of PVT experiments
- Regression to PVT data
The exercises will exemplify the various regression options in PVTsim and illustrate the use of PVTsim as a preprocessor to compositional and black oil reservoir simulators.
Who should participate
Reservoir engineers with prior experience in PVTsim or other PVT simulators who want to be able to make optimum use of the characterization and regression options in PVTsim.
