Development of Fluid Inclusion Software Using PVTsim Open Structure 2009

A software capable of simulating Fluid Inclusions using PVTsim Open Structure was developed in Visual Basic code and using Excel as front end.

Development and Maintenance of the Flash and Property Engine for OLGA Compositional Tracking 2001-

Development and maintenance of a state of the art multiphase FORTRAN library applied in the OLGA Compositional Tracking simulator.

Unification and Upgrade of Existing MPM and Allocation Solutions 2008

Existing Multi Phase Meter (MPM) and allocation solutions on three Norwegian fields were upgraded and unified into one object oriented COM-solution based on PVTsim Open Structure technology. An MPM and allocation solution for a new field was developed and added to the unified solution.

Software for initializing Eclipse Comp with compositional information 2008

An Eclipse Comp file defining the reservoir grid is read in and well stream compositions are imported from a PVTsim database. With supplemental information about sampling conditions, initial pressure and composition is calculated for each grid block in the entire reservoir grid. The results are written to a file, which can be read by Eclipse Comp. Eclipse Comp can thus start a simulation with compositional variations both vertically and horizontally. The stability of the initialization was verified for a real reservoir.

Development of Input Table Generator for Framo Multiphase Meters Using PVTsim Open Structure 2006

Based on PVTsim Open Structure technology, an input table generator for Framo Multiphase Meters was developed using Microsoft Excel as a backbone.

Cricondenbar prediction algorithm for North Sea Gas 2006

The client was provided with an algorithm for predicting the cricondenbar for a North Sea gas. To increase the accuracy of the predicted saturation points, the code utilized the Mathias & Copeman temperature dependence for the a-parameters of light components.

Software for production system 2006

A fluid composition from the early life of the reservoir is supplied. This composition is adjusted to predict present day produced fluid composition and export gas and condensate flow rates. The reservoir depletion is simulated as a CVD process and reservoir pressure and fluid composition are found by adjusting to multi phase meter flow rates. The processing of the fluid is simulated, and export flow rates are stored by a production logging system by another software vendor.

Phase distrubution in pipelines 2006

Development of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet with VB code that makes use of PVTsim Open Structure Flash calculations to carry out batch calculations for phase distributions along pipeline profiles.

Allocation of production streams 2002

A program for allocation of production streams in a field containing hundreds of wells, some with miscible floods, was developed. The functionality included automatic reading of input files with sampling information, batch recombination calculations and batch process simulations and automatic generation of output files for overall allocation procedures.

Development of multi phase meter algorithms 2002

Development of algorithms to be used in connection with multi phase meters. The algorithms were based on PVTsim technology and made a conversion of measured mass flow rates at meter conditions (elevated pressure and temperature) to standard volumetric flow rates.

Software for interpretation of fluid inclusion data 1996

Fluid inclusions are miniature cells with fluids trapped in reservoir rock at an early stage of the formation of the reservoir. The cells are too small to extract an individual fluid sample from. From microscopy observations and an estimated fluid composition, a likely set of cell fluid composition and trapping temperature and pressure can be calculated.
