Asphaltene
Asphaltene precipitation from reservoir fluids may occur as a result of miscible
gas injection EOR, spatial variations of the reservoir composition, or gas lift
application to risers.
Calsep provides screening studies investigating e.g. the effect of different injection
gases on the asphaltene potential. With such studies at hand preventive measures
can be taken.
To meet the challenges of asphaltene modeling Calsep has implemented the PC-SAFT
model as a state-of-the-art equation of state. The PC-SAFT model is not generally
available in PVTsim yet, but Calsep consultants already use it in asphaltene consulting
work.
