Wax
Calsep's services within wax precipitation and deposition provide clients with accurate and innovative solutions. Our wax expertise and our state-of-the-art PVT models equip our consultants with a rigorous and versatile framework for solving all wax related flow assurance problems.
Calsep's services within wax related flow assurance are built on models and algorithms, which are generally accepted as market leading. This is a result of an ongoing development and verification of all our models - often in collaboration clients and renowned experts.
Calsep's wax models have been published in peer-reviewed journals. We consider this a seal of approval not only for the models, but also for Calsep's wax related services. Calsep's staff has extensive knowledge and experience in solving wax problems from a large number of previous studies. The references cover studies for oil companies both in the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico.

- Wax deposition in a transport pipeline from a Norwegian petroleum field
The study comprised two parts. Part 1 covered preparation of all involved fluids including adjusting the fluid parameters to match measured PVT and wax content data. Part 2 covered simulating wax deposition in the pipeline and from those making recommendations of a suitable pigging frequency. - Wax deposition in a connecting pipeline between two Danish petroleum fields
The study comprised two parts. Part 1 covered preparation of all involved fluids including adjusting the fluid parameters to match measured PVT and wax content data. Part 2 covered simulating pressure, temperature and wax deposition profiles in the pipeline when a new petroleum field was added to the connecting pipeline. - Wax deposition in a pipeline transporting a gas condensate in the Gulf of Mexico
The study comprised two parts. Part 1 covered preparation of all involved fluids including adjusting the fluid parameters to match measured PVT and wax content data. Part 2 covered simulating pressure, temperature and wax deposition profiles in the pipeline for a gas condensate. In the pipeline, the gas condensate was above the saturation point and wax deposition from a gas phase was therefore considered.
