Resident Fluids Engineer and PVT Specialist
Hired into a major NOC in APAC region to provide advisory services for streamlining modelling workflow for the Operator and develop fluid characterisation guideline standards. The role also involved providing on the job training to flow assurance engineers in using PVTsim Nova spanning across their assets.
Wax Deposition in a Well
The fluid was characterized to match measured wax content of the crude and wax appearance temperatures. Eighteen different production scenarios were evaluated with varying GOR, water cuts and oil production rates. Wax deposition in the well was observed in 5 out of the 18 scenarios.
Modelling of Ultra lean Gas condensate samples
This study included developing common EOS models for ultra-lean condensate samples from Malaysia. The samples included BHS and Separators samples. Bottomhole samples were contaminated, and the separator samples were collected during unstable flow. The objective of the study was to QC a set of 30+ PVT reports and calibrate the compositional data to develop model that matches the observed well flow rates from different reservoirs across the field.
Asphaltene Screening, Modelling and Lab Work Design and Data Interpretation for Low Asphaltene Content Fluids
Study involved Asphaltene precipitation potential assessment of fluids with very low Asphaltene content. The project required screening samples for laboratory analysis and optimizing lab measurement to be cost-effective and ensuring the program covers PT areas of operational interest. Finally, the scope included interpretation of lab data and developing model that matched observed Asphaltene onset with and without gas injection using Cubic EOS.
Field wide modelling for 17 OBM contaminated reservoir fluids and modelling Gas Oil Contact
This project involved developing a Field wide EOS model for heavily contaminated samples collected across 8 years of the exploration and development of green field in Asia Pacific region. The 17 bottom samples were collected across multiple stacked reservoirs. The project also required the model to match an expected Gas-Oil-Contact determined by pressure logs.
